My Visit With Former Cop Antoinette Franks on Death Row - Convicted Cop Killer and Serial Killer?

For many weeks I have communicated with Antoinette Franks through correspondence and telephone calls, and finally a visit to death row, will personally meet with her.

Many of you will have heard of her case, but those who have not, here is a brief synposis their case and conviction. Antoinette Frank, a New Orleans Police Officer (now 37), who was convicted of theft, the Kim Anh restaurant in eastern New Orleans, while a police officer, on 4 March1995th Through the robbery, they killed a police officer named Ronald A. Williams, who worked as a security guard, (who had known and worked prevoiusly) and two workers who were siblings. She and another man (also found guilty and sentenced to death) by the name of Roger Caze was the robbery (Google her name and / or go on wikipedia terms) to its image.

Later, after her arrest, according to a study of the body of a man buried under her house, thought to herFather, who previously reported missing, so ... Some have labeled her a serial killer! She was found guilty and sentenced to death, 12th September 1995, and is currently on death row at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, Louisiana (outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana).

In the beginning, they talk and I write the way of a book, and I know I was the only journalist / writer that with spoken in 13 years after manyRequests from others. The reason why she said she turned to me because they thought that I would "tell" her side of the story accurately. Later, after our visit, we both decided that this was impossible, and I'll tell you why later.

On a cold and rainy day I came into the prison compound and needless to say, had a lot of security measures to bear. Searching, questioning, and again looking for. A background is to be studied in detail before a prisoner can be seen in the Death House. AsI went into the special holding cell by Antoinette, we exchanged pleasantries, and finally got down to business ... which would go for a potential book. Our visit lasted a few hours and we covered a lot about her life, like my life.

Well, why do not we write a book together. Antoinette's position was ambivalent for me. On the one hand, she left me the impression that this book would be a confession, and she wanted the world (and God) to forgive her, especially the victimFamily. But then on the other side, they stubbornly refuse to its appeal! Why does this matter for me, the complaints? Why have I asked about their complaints? Well, that's my position, if you are guilty before God, why be appealed? A complaint is still essentially says that you are innocent!

My position was that if you are guilty, there is (I have mentioned that there are actually two eyewitnesses to the entire crime, and it originally stood,) but later withdrawn. And I really thought afterher many letters that she found God and was ready to "Come Clean", and I would write about their repentance. Why else would we write a book?

How many of you know, I once was a rogue cop, and surrendered to law enforcement in 2001 because I really regret my past and wanted to pay the price and citizens of the world again. I regret not only to God, but everything that I hurt over the years.

One may wonder, however, Robert, she is on death row, scheduled for lethal injection, why should not they be filed? I was also scheduled to die! In 1979, when I'd be on the run because I was the word from the Angola prison (and was) was well known that I raped and killed, the first day went! A police officer can not in general prison population to survive, especially a prison population that some prisoners that the police has placed there!

I was still at the same jail time and death to my surrender! And if for some reason I was comfinement placed in solitary confinement, Ito be done, what the demand for a 30th straight

Do the math, 30 years "without" words in 45 years, means: I am 75 after the release (if I remember after 30 years still) alive. This is a kind of death, and some would even say that death is better than life in prison, essentially (30 years). If not for my faith in God, and do my desire to repent, I think the judge would have given me the time. And for me that is the key to freedom ... Repentance to God to forgive your victim (s) and remain free of crime.Do not believe in God? Okay, that's your right, then I apologize your sacrifice and stay crime free!

After a few weeks after our visit, I can understand, but their fear. It is covered in a catch 22 to admit you're guilty, drop your appeals and possibly death received much sooner. The others begin to use your complaint (average duration of symptoms 12-15 years) and extend your life time if you call sitting in a living cell.

What I have from this visit, they know many letters, and toAntoinette?

I am thankful that the Lord has me finally the strength not to fear death or 30 years, and gave me faith to know that he really is. I am glad that I was obedient to his command to surrender ... first to him, and then the law enforcement agencies! My Message ... Please do not hurt others!
