Pennslvania Maria is a former Miss World and Miss International, but Mary told me in confidence that she would not pull a pageant junkie account. It just gave her a great deal of experience and confidence. She has a degree from Temple University in foreign languages, and is now serving in the demand by many European-style food companies as a marketingConsultants, as well as speaker on television and in print ads.

The following is an interview with Norm Goldman, Editor of Bookpleasures performed. Com and Sketchandtravel.com with Mary, provides us with some very current information related to romantic holiday in Italy. Maria now lives six months of the year in Italy.

Norm: Please tell our readers something about yourself and your know-how relating to romantic holiday in Italy?

Mary: My grandfather and his familyowned a vineyard in the mountains of Abruzzo, and I practically grew a lot to learn about Italian cuisine. Moreover, because of my modeling career, I spent much time in Italy.

If I were not modeling, I had the opportunity to study the regional Italian cuisine in the so-called agriturismi. This is the Italian word for cultivated land holdings, which also serves bed and breakfast dishes from the fresh food and produce in many different regions of the producedItaly.

Generally, tourists tend to be on the popular and crowded places, which can be very impersonal to know. Arriving by car and on foot throughout Italy has some of me with windows made of the most spectacular venues.

Norm: You mention that you have a great experience to stay in bed and have agriturisimi) Breakfast on organic farms in Italy (. Could you provide our readers something about this B & B's and why they are considered as a romantic honeymoon or appropriateGoals?

Maria: The agriturismi, besides the fact that places to learn about Italian food, tend to some of the most romantic vacation spots are in Italy. They are usually located high on a hill with breathtaking views of a city. If in a city like Rome, they were found by the most important areas. Therefore, they are usually located in quiet, serene and picturesque settings. What could be more romantic than holidays on the vineyard and in a position tooPeaceful walk picking chewing a fresh piece of fruit on while your walking?

In addition, remain in the farm you are always guaranteed a wealth of top quality freshly prepared food. No doubt, this is far better than eating in the restaurants, tourists and just, which are often very expensive.

All-inclusive packages are generally available and in most cases to be very much cheaper than a stay in a hotel.

Norm: Why should your opinionItaly is a good choice for a romantic getaway or wedding and honeymoon destination?

Mary: Italy is without doubt one of the best places for a romantic vacation or honeymoon, not only because of the large number of breathtaking beauty and romantic vistas around you, but also the Italian lifestyle.

Italians love romance, their songs are all based on romance and love. People love it, couples walked hand in hand or arm in arm to see. Even the simple ritual of eating in one mealromantic flair. When you sit down to eat dinner at a restaurant or even to a bed and breakfast is a long, drawn out ritual. In other words, this is an activity shared and enjoyed between two people, and not with a little more than 10 minutes.

Take, for example, picnics in Italy. If you have spontaneous romantic picnics decide, you have access to some of the most romantic places on earth. Furthermore, you are offered a variety of fresh bread and pizza at the localforno (pronounced for-noh), and cheese, cheese shops, or find supermarkets.

Even some of the big cities such as Rome, Milan and Florence, have all its quiet places where you can enjoy your meal and enjoy the romantic atmosphere.

The center of Rome, the Villa Borghese, and of course if you do not mind the noise and crowds, there are the Spanish Steps.

Not to refrain from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, which are popular targets for spontaneous picnics.

If youin a small town, it is certainly not difficult to find a nice view in a quiet location. One word of advice, please always remember that the real estate that you respect on and clearing work to picnic.

Norm: Why are cooking classes in Italy has become so popular?

Mary: Actually it's a new trend, and my own company has received many proposals put together these packages for couples. 'm In fact, I work with a journalist on an article that will appear shortly in February 2005Women's and fitness magazines. It is of course items for Valentine's Day. Anyway, it is a trend for couples to consider not only cooking classes in Italy, but also in the USA. Is there a better way to share a wonderful experience and create something together, and then you can enjoy the romantic experience of eating, what you two just created?

It is time that Americans on what the Italians have been known for years that catch-kitchen is a romantic experience. It is not threateningYou can creatively together at your own pace and then participate in a romantic meal together. It can observe a prelude to a romantic movie. You can even go shopping together at a local market for fresh food before you cook the food. So it is a romantic trend and it is becoming increasingly popular.

Norm: What is the best time to visit Italy from the perspective of the weather, cost and quantity?

Mary: I have visited Italy in every season and there are almost no badTime to be there. However, if I can be my favorite time, it would be summer and autumn, when I enjoy the beautiful Italian sun is shining on the colorful landscape choose.

August is usually the most of the sunniest, but it is also the busiest.

If you do not want the chance to crowds of August July can be a big month because the weather is usually warmer.

Early fall can be as great expense, and usually by the end of August, the Italians, as well as the tourists are backSchool and work. You are in the late autumn rains.

Christmas is another option, with a very fine season. However, it can be crowded and expensive, if you are in agriturismo. It is less commercial than in the States, as not all the houses lit with Christmas lights. The food you enjoy and the feeling in the air are so romantic! Spending New Year's Eve in the center of Rome and watch the spectacular fireworks display over the Coliseumsomething that I have to do every year and is an experience like no other.

Norm: If you had to choose up to 5 unreached places in Italy for a romantic vacation, honeymoon or wedding destination, what would it be and why?

Mary: First, I must say that it is really difficult for me, my choices narrow to up to 5 places. Please also note that some of my not taking the usual suspects to choose from. I like the unusual and not commercially available high favorites.

-The island of Ischia:In August 2004 I visited friends who own and operate a wonderful bed and breakfasts in the town of Forio. The hotel is located on a 30-mile island, divided into about 5 separate, small towns, of which the city of the island's most important one is.

Why Ishcia?

It is famous for its spas as a result of thermal water. You can find saunas that exist are not made man, but actually in a cave on the side of the volcano in Ischia.

The view of the sea while you are at one of the outside of protected areasenjoy a spa or at the beach is absolutely breathtaking and you are here, as in paradise. The blue of the water and the sky is so intensely blue that you will feel like you were, in the middle of a living painting.

It is amazing how you return after taking the water cure spa-although I'm sure, soaking in the landscape has a lot to do with it too.

There are also small towns walk in. Each of the 5 citiesIschia has their own little place which is very romantic, and the capital of the island has its own castle. There are also small, romantic cafes, shops and cafes as well as the appearance of the moon tan on the beach and only occasionally outside musician singing old romantic Neapolitan songs accompanied by mandolin music. Oh, the romance of it all!

If any of you have seen the award-winning Italian stage Il Postino (The Postman), the island, which is filmed on (Procida)adjacent to the island of Ischia.

ROM: The next place I would choose would be the city of Rome. Yes, it's a great city, but so many well-traveled Italians will tell you, there's nothing like the city of Rome, if you know how to find your way.

Why Rome?

Get around Rome on foot is analogous to living in an art museum.

Rome is consists of various heights with a magnificent view. My favorite is Monte Mario with its breathtaking panorama of the city. Another reason is the abovethe Spanish Steps, where in front of the steps that you have a beautiful fountain. If you are in the top of the steps you have gorgeous views over the city and you can also enjoy one of these impromptu picnics here.

Do not forget, Villa Borghese, it was the territory of the royal family. Borghese is now a lovely park with beautiful statues, ponds dotted another great place to enjoy a romantic walk and an impromptu picnic.

One of the most romantic places (space) is the PiazzaNavona, especially at night, where you'll find many restaurants in the outdoors and beautiful statues. It is the famous and beautiful bar-de-la Pace, which is located on a remote corner of the Piazza Navona. It is a favorite of international celebrities. And if you want to have some great pizza again ask a local for a forno and see some great, fresh baked pizza and bread. The Romans are known for a kind of role the famous Rosetta is crisp, but at the same time light and airy. Soask for a Rosetta, fill it with cheese and you have a wonderful sort of picnic lunch or a snack.

-Venice is a very romantic place. I hesitate to recommend to Venice, although it has one of the most beautiful and romantic spots in the world, it just became too touristy. However, if you visit Italy and to do it, you have to see Venice and experience its beauty.

WHY VENICE?

Just riding a water taxi that can take you to the island to be romantic, as you take in the beauty thatSurrounds you. If you really want to have a romantic view of the city, take your taxi ride at night when the moon glistens on the water and the beauty of Venice is the radiance of the moon illuminated.

They are madly in love with her your romantic other important but at the same time with this kind of view.

Of course there are others doing the traditional things, like a visit to St. Mark's Square or enjoy one of the cafés and restaurants, explore, and the smallCanals and back alleys.

What do they eat plants is key in the search for good food to smaller more intimate dining facilities are to find the locals rather than just tourists.

-TUSCANY

Tuscany is a beautiful, romantic destination.

WHY Tuscany?

You can do various romantic Farm serving delicious fresh food and to find out of the way places, you are away from the crowds, but with the possibility of day trips to Florence and Pisa. In this way,To avoid the expensive hotels and at the same time experience the feeling of really living in Italy.

The wines are made in Tuscany certainly be wonderful experience, too.

Florence is a city congested with beautiful works of art.

They have, of course, the Uffizi, which houses some of the world's most beautiful works of art. Outside the gallery, there are statues of some of the most famous citizen of Florence, Michelangelo and Galileo all those rich FlorentinePatrons to support them in their works.

Two romantic places in Florence are: the main square, Piazza della Signoria, where you can find a replica of the statue of David (or as the Italians know him, Davide), and the Ponte Vecchio. This bridge crosses the Arno River and from the bridge you have a wonderful view over the city. In addition, the walks through the wine regions such as Chianti or Montepulciano and you have yourself a winninglocally.

-OLTRANTO

Oltranto in Puglia and is a seaside resort.

WHY OLTRANTO?

If I may say so again, an Italian film to see you the feeling that these landscape-award-winning film-Meditteranneo wonderful comedy about the war, but the scenery is breathtaking. Most of the film takes place in parts of Greece. However Oltranto intense blue of the water is deep and strong colors of the surrounding pristine white building bears a profound resemblance to the colorsWater and landscape in this film is mainly in Greece.

Due to the lack of industry in Oltranto, the water is crystal clear.

Oltranto is with cafes and shops, the blue sky and clear water filled overlooked. There are many other beautiful places in the vicinity of which are worthy of day trips. Lecce, which is about 30 minutes away is a beautiful, elegant art-filled city, most Baroque churches and statues. Lecce is a perfect place for a romantic stroll to take. Ineach of these places you will not find the crowds of tourists found in other popular locations. Also worth a day trip is Alberobello. It is a very touristic town, but worth it to appreciate the trulli.

These cone-shaped trulli houses, which are in certain areas of Puglia. These were actually used as houses many years ago. In Alberobello, most shops are located within the trulli. You can really experience a lot of untouched nature and the beaches are clean and notcommercially organized.

Norm: How far in advance should a couple prepare themselves for a honeymoon or getaway in Italy?

For reservations, etc for hotels, destinations, you need to plan so that at least 3 to 6 months in advance. Italy is a popular destination for many, especially for weddings and honeymoons.

Certain times of the year tend tomore overbooked, especially in summer. It also depends on the time of the year.
